As the WTO has phased out the MFA (Multi Fiber Arrangement), which had imposed quotas on developing countries’ textile and clothing exports to developed countries’ markets, Chinese firms in this industry are facing very good opportunities to expand their businesses. However, some protections still exist in international markets and Chinese textiles and clothing exporters have to face competition from other developing countries. Because some developing nations that may have advantage in cheap cost and more affluent labor cost for fabric labels. It will be interesting to see how this industry will evolve in the future.
